Marvel’s Thunderbolts* has barely premiered and already the internet’s on fire. First reactions have been good. Some are calling it the best MCU film since Avengers: Endgame. Others are just relieved it doesn’t feel like a leftover phase of VFX sludge. But while most of us are still waiting for the official release, a Redditor may have dropped the mother of all spoilers—Thunderbolts’ post-credits scene/s. And if it’s even halfway true, the MCU is about get a lot more exciting.
The movie’s full title is Thunderbolts* – with a suspicious little asterisk. At first, fans joked it was Marvel’s footnote for “We’re sorry about Phase 4.” But according to Marvel Studios, the asterisk actually signals a deeper twist: the name Thunderbolts* is temporary, a placeholder for something more epic. The actual team might go by a different name by the end. And no, it’s not “The Other Avengers” or “The New Avengers.”
Now for the leaks. On Reddit and Discord, users are trading details like it’s the dark web of fandom. One user claims to have seen three different versions of the Thunderbolts post-credit scenes floating around social chats. They include:
- Reed Richards talking to Sentry.
- A character listed as “R-Doom-J” capturing Sentry (that’s right, people think it’s Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom).
- The Thunderbolts discussing Sam Wilson putting the Avengers back together—only to be interrupted by a ship entering Earth’s orbit.

That ship? According to another user, it’s “explicitly the Fantastic Four’s ship landing in New York.”
There’s also talk of The Leader (yes, that Leader) chilling in a castle, ranting about a gamma-fueled war happening on another planet.
Someone stands from a throne. Green cape. You get the picture: this could be the official tease for World War Hulk. If you’ve been paying attention, the leaked concept art months ago hinted that this storyline could be one of the threads leading to Battleworld and Avengers: Doomsday.
Of course, none of this is confirmed. It’s Reddit. One guy still thinks Mephisto is behind everything. But if even half of it is real, Marvel’s back on its big-picture grind. And if RDJ really is playing Doom? Full circle. Tony Stark out. Doom in. One genius billionaire to rule them all.
Thunderbolts hits cinemas next week. Bring popcorn. And maybe a notebook—because it sounds like the entire next saga kicks off with the Thunderbolts post-credits scenes.
